Owners Bank Launches “Quarterback Scramble” in Support of the SCORE Foundation

Recognizing small business owners who scramble to succeed across the lifecycle of their business through donations aligned with gameplay

Middletown, CONNECTICUT (11/30/23) Owners Bank, a digital bank created to meet the unique needs of small business owners, announced the launch of its “Quarterback Scramble” campaign in partnership with WBZ-98.5: The Sports Hub. Through the “Quarterback Scramble,” each time New England’s quarterback rushes the end zone for a touchdown during a 2023season  game November 1 – December 31, 2023, Owners Bank will donate $1,000 to the SCORE Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides education and resources to help entrepreneurs and small businesses owners succeed. There is a donation maximum of $10,000 by December 31, 2023.

“Small business owners are like quarterbacks under pressure – sometimes they need to scramble to find capital that meets cash flow requirements and allows them to successfully run their business,” said David Mitchell, founder and CEO of Owners Bank. “Through this program, we are thrilled at the opportunity to partner with the SCORE Foundation and help owners simplify the game plan for their businesses.”

The SCORE Foundation provides free mentors, tools, resources, workshops and educational programs to enhance the success rate of small businesses. In the last year alone, SCORE has helped start more than 30,000 businesses in the United States. Any donated funds from the “Quarterback Scramble” program will go towards helping to support these owners across all stages of their business journey.

“Big banks are built for big businesses – they aren’t there to help block for small business owners during critical times because they don’t understand the unique pressure small businesses face. At Owners Bank, we do. When you scramble for cash, we’ve got your back with lending products specifically designed for small businesses,” said Mitchell.

Launched in April 2023 by Liberty Bank, Owners Bank is all business, no BS, providing small business owners with high-tech, high-touch solutions designed to make managing finances easier and accessing cash faster. Owners Bank was created by a team of finance industry veterans and former small business owners, and through a suite of digital apps and banking services, provides products and services that meet the unique needs of small businesses. “Quarterback Scramble” was inspired by Owners Bank’s “You Own It” Business Checking, which gives a quarter back to account holders for every debit card transaction of $25 or more.
